Sompt - Photographs of the third stage of the renovation work

Stage three was very messy, and involved removing all of the floor boards in the granier at the back of the house, and preparing it for the extra beams. This is needed to support the extra weight that comes from adding three bedrooms and three bathrooms to the first floor of the house. These photographs were taken in July 2004.

All of the furniture is put safely away before the work starts........and protected in case of falling rubble.
Which as you can see is needed, as the work starts.Nothing that a bit of sweeping up can't solve though!.
The view from the lounge looking up to the roof, where that was once a floor. The view from the bedroom which brings it home how large the granier is!
All that wood has to go somewhere. Is that our garden, or is it a forest?
