Sompt - Photographs

The department of Deux-Sevres is full of beautiful scenery, and I will displaying those scenes here along with photographs of the house during the renovation process.

Sompt

• March 2003 - Viewing the house for the first time
• July 2003 - When I signed on the dotted line and the house was mine
• September 2003 - Visiting the house
• September 2003 - Photographs taken in the hamlet of Sompt
• December 2003 - Helping to clear the small forest around Le Lavoir
• April 2007 - With a lot of the work done, some time to enjoy the area
• May 2008 - After our first year letting the house we got a chance to visit and catch up

The renovation work

• Stage 1 - new roof and velux (February 2004)
• Stage 2 of the work which included the installation of two new sets of gates,
  the new floor in the downstairs bedroom and the opening up of the fireplaces (May 2004)
• Stage 3 - removal of the existing floor upstairs, ready to double the beams to take the extra weight (July 2004)
• The garden work continues!! (August 2006)
• The courtyard takes a step in the right direction (August 2006)
• The painting of the rooms (March 2007)
• Painting the outside of the house (April 2007)
• The court yard has a spring clean and a new roof on the bread oven (May 2010)
• A new terrace is built at the back of the house (May 2010)
